CODY — Cody Regional Health is set to reopen its Sterile Processing Department (SPD) on March 4, 2024, marking the culmination of an extensive 10-month remodel. This renovation is a significant milestone for CRH in advancing patient safety and optimizing surgical services across the Big Horn Basin.

The redesigned SPD is more than just a facelift — it’s a testament to the hospital’s commitment to excellence in health care, according to a CRH release. Boasting state-of-the-art antibacterial flooring, meticulously engineered to uphold the highest hygiene standards, this cutting-edge facility ensures unparalleled sterility throughout our surgical procedures. Moreover, the incorporation of innovative features, such as adjustable sinks and ergonomic seating, promises enhanced comfort and efficiency for  team members.

“This transformative renovation represents a pivotal moment in our journey toward delivering exceptional surgical care to our community,” said Keith Ungrund, chief clinical officer at Cody Regional Health. “With our newly revamped SPD, equipped with advanced technologies and ergonomic enhancements, we are poised to elevate the standard of surgical excellence and foster faster recovery and better outcomes for our patients.”

Designed to accommodate future surgical growth, this expanded facility offers increased capacity and flexibility, empowering staff to meet the evolving health care needs of the community with precision and expertise.

“As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our patients, staff, and community for their unwavering support and understanding throughout this transformative journey,” adds Laurene Torczon, surgical services director at Cody Regional Health. “Together, we are charting a course toward a healthier, safer future — one precision procedure at a time.”
