John “Jake” David Dow II

John “Jake” David Dow II, 53, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at his home in Cody.

Jake was born Oct. 23, 1958 in Caribou, Maine. He graduated from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Maine. He went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard. Jake was a fabulous chef working at The Cheechako and the Taste of Maine.  He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. He was a poet and song writer, and a phenomenal musician. His passion was playing rock and blues on one of his many guitars.

He liked playing for crowds and traveling with his band as well as jamming by himself in his beloved studio. Jake was a loyal friend, a caring father, and a “never a dull moment” husband.

He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” D. Dow and his mother, Eleanor Lincoln Dow.

He is survived his loving wife, Connie Dow of Cody, his sister, Jacklyn (Christopher) Reed of Wiscasset, Maine, son, John Dow III of Nobleboro, Maine, daughter, Emily (Daniel) Fauver of Worland, stepdaughter Suzi (Brett) Hendrickx of Puyallup, Wash., and  stepson Joe Bell(Sheba) of Bozeman, Mont., grandchild, Eden Fauver, step grandchildren Makenzi (John) Butler, Hallie Ring, Ethan Hendrickx, Andy Downen and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He will be missed by all his family and many friends.

Jake will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Cody on Friday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. with military honors provided.
