Billie Camposan, age 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Powell Valley Healthcare  after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s and pneumonia. She was born Alice Louise Clark, on Sept. 10, 1920 in Roseburg, Ore., to Zoe and Clarence Clark. In 1939 she married her lifetime love of 70 years, Fred Camposan, in Columbus, Mont.  They then honeymooned by hitchhiking to Cambridge, Mass., to introduce Billie to the Camposano family.

Billie’s passion for life centered around family. She was known for her “spunk,” her humor, her love of purple, and her joyful welcomes and love for her many family members. Many giggles filled the rooms of the house when Grandma was entertaining her grandchildren, and many hugs were doled out from her loving arms over the years.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, son Kent, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are Billie’s daughters, Donna (Jon) Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Gail (Larry) Redman of Powell, Sharon (Jake) Fulton of Powell, Rikki (Jim) Paul of Laurel, Mont., Denise (Tony) Willis of Casper, daughter-in-law Susan (Chris) Haywood of Billings, 26 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and dearest cousin and best friend, Vivian Jones of Powell.

Visitation will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at Thompson Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 a.m. The celebration will continue with a gathering at the Eagles Lodge in Powell at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and stories and memories about Billie will be shared.

A short graveside service will be held on Monday afternoon, Sept. 12, at Crown Hill Cemetery. The time will be announced at the Saturday service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Powell Valley Longterm Care Center West Wing, c/o Cheri Benander, for West Wing resident activities.
