Gerald ‘Lee’ Reed

Gerald “Lee” Reed, 76, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Powell Valley Healthcare.

Lee was born to Clifford and Edna Reed in Miles City, Mont., on July 11, 1934. 

He married Mabel Mother’s Head and this union produced a daughter named Eddie Lou. They later divorced. 

He then married Belva Brooks, which produced a daughter, Lisa. They later divorced.

On May 7, 1979 Lee married the love of his life, Bonnie Jean Hoskins, in Riverton. With this union he gained two daughters and a son.

As a young man he worked on several different ranches as a ranch hand. He was a welder by trade and owned his own welding company, Reed Welding and Construction. He also worked for Busch Ag Resources where he retired after years of service.

He and Don Cooley bought an airplane that they used for business and pleasure, but his biggest passion in life was fishing. He and Bonnie loved to fish Buffalo Bill Reservoir on their boat, the BonnieLee, as well as travel up to Canyon Ferry Lake and even Alaska. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, their beloved dog Boomer, a daughter Melinda, his grandson Zeb, a sister and a brother.

He is survived by daughters Lisa, Paula, and Eddie Lou, a son, Lenny, brothers Dick and Rob and his wife, Sid, and sister Nancy and her husband, Gary and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the American Legion Hall in Powell.
