Paulene Kober Doerr, 89, of Powell, passed away April 19, 2009 at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell.
Paulene was born June 19, 1919 to William and Anna Kober in Park City, Mont. Paulene was the only sister to five older brothers: William, Emil, Walter, Clarence, and twin, Paul. After graduating from Columbus High School, Paulene worked at the Stillwater County Courthouse and, in 1940, met John E. Doerr of Lovell. They were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lovell on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 1941.
Paulene’s life revolved around raising her children, gardening, cooking, cleaning, helping with the farm work, sewing and painting. She took painting classes at Northwest College in Powell and during the winter, in Arizona. Of her many sewing projects, the production of 56 Raggedy Anns and Andys for family and friends gave her the most satisfaction.
Paulene is survived by her children, Thomas James Doerr of Powell, David Alan Doerr (Barbara) of Pocatello, Idaho, and Millie Ann Town (Barrie) of Monument, Colo.; six grandchildren and seven (soon to be eight) great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all five brothers and her husband of 61 years, John.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lovell on Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
