Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Burlington Cemetery for John Roy Lowe, 86, who died Tuesday, May 20 at his Powell home.

He was born April 22, 1922, in Binger, Okla., son of John Seborn Lowe and Florence (Nye) Lowe. He served in World War II with the Ozarks 407th Infantry Division. He attended some college and married Margaret Jean Nicholson on July 19, 1948, in Billings, Mont.

They lived at Burlington where he was a rancher and employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. His hobby was horses.

Survivors include his wife Margaret of Powell; a daughter-in-law, Carol Lowe of Basin; sisters-in-law, Maxine Boynton of San Diego, Calif., and Marie Hendricks of Nampa, Idaho; sister, Patricia Clark (Charles) of Canyon City, Colo.; and brother-in-law, Jerry Nicholson; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Lowe; one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
