Robert Paul Brazelton, 78, of Worland passed away on Friday September 1, 2006 at Washakie Medical Center in Worland.

Robert was born on March 28, 1928 six miles west of Worland (near the Wyoming Industrial Institute) to Roy Eugene and Laura Gertrude (Brown) Brazelton. He was raised at Worland and had attended schools in Worland. He only completed the eighth grade and encouraged higher education for his sons and grandchildren.

He worked in a filling station and for McClellan & MacQueen as a young man.

Robert then served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was part of the occupational forces stationed in Japan following the war. Robert married Daisy F. Personett on July 11, 1946 at Fort Lewis, Washington.

After the war, he went to work for the Ohio Oil Company ( it later became Marathon Oil Co.) on May 20, 1947, and retired from the company after working for them for 40 years.

Roberts was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Worland where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Gideon’s International for 26 years and had spoken at many churches on their behalf. He was a member of the V.F.W.

He was an accomplished woodworker. He made shelves, lawn ornaments, cabinets, and had helped Roger and Nora build their home in Powell. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fly-fishing with family and friends, and gardening. Robert also worked with animals by breaking and training horses. Favorite horses were taught tricks (counting, bowing, hand shakes). His favorite dogs were Golden Retrievers who were well mannered and trained loyal companions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Keith W. Brazelton; brothers Harold, Clair and Warren Brazelton; his sister Alta Jensen; half brothers Howard, Thomas, Verdon and Irvin West; and a half sister Fern Nivens.

Robert is survived by his wife Daisy of Worland, WY; his sons Larry R. (Judy) Brazelton of Glendora, New Jersey, Roger E. (Nora) Brazelton of Powell, WY, and Steve P. (Tracy) Brazelton of Worland, WY; a brother Roy (Eva) Brazelton of Cody, WY; and by his grandchildren Kary V. Losey of Powell, WY, Ann Marie Weitzel and Michael Brazelton of New Jersey, and Derek Paul Brazelton of Casper, WY. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

A family visitation was held on Saturday, and was followed by cremation. A memorial service will be held on Wed. Sept. 6th at 11:00am at the First Southern Baptist Church in Worland with Pastor Kevin LeBoeuf officiating.
