Irma Mae Brown, 61, died Tuesday, Sept. 27 at her home in Powell.

She was born July 15, 1944, in Powell to Clayton and Elizabeth (Irwin) Brown. She attended local schools and went on to pursue an education at Northwest College and the University of Wyoming. She was an elementary teacher and loved her many years in the classroom. Most of her teaching years were in Frannie, and she also taught with military schools in the Philippines where she was able to enjoy traveling in that part of the world.

Her hobbies included arts and crafts of many kinds. She loved her family and enjoyed making special things for family, friends and neighbors, as well as helping others around her.

Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Brown, in the Powell Valley Care Center; three brothers, Walter Brown and wife Judy, Jim Brown and wife Nancy and Lloyd Brown, all of Powell; her sisters, Carol Christiansen and husband Ted of Powell and Alice VandenBroek of Apache Junction, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Brown.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the First Methodist Church. For those who wish, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
