Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 6 in the Byron LDS Church for Kenneth Glenn Goller, 50, who died peacefully at his home in Byron Friday, Sept. 2 following a three-year battle with multiple myeloma.
He was born Oct. 19, 1954, in Hardin, Mont., the oldest child of Donald and Ruth (Ferrell) Goller. He soon was joined by two sisters, Donna and Linda, whom he enjoyed teasing throughout their childhood.
He graduated from Powell High School in 1972. Later he earned his Associate of Science degree from Northwest College. He held various jobs from guiding to roughnecking before settling in Byron and serving the Town of Byron for over 20 years.
He loved the outdoors and spent much of his leisure time hunting, reloading, shooting, gunsmithing, trapping, fishing and exploring the neighboring mountains. He particularly loved the Beartooths. He liked Ruby with him on all his excursions, and she would follow him anywhere. He was sure the skyline was somewhat shortened from all the tracks he made.
Ken’s daughter, Malia, introduced him to the love of his life, Ruby, and they were married Sept. 1, 2000. One year later Eli McDaniel Goller was born, joining big sister, Malia Beth (Goller) McClure, and brothers, Trevor Odell and Tyrell Paul Humphreys. He rejoiced in being sealed to all his family in the Billings Montana Temple.
He loved his family and was a true patriarch, who loved the Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed serving Him and spent many hours fulfilling his church callings.
He was loved by many and will be remembered and loved still by many. His lifelong friends were an essential part of his life. He enjoyed enumerable adventures with them and loved them dearly. He left friends and family with many memories, a few legends and countless tall tales.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; sons Eli and Ty of the family home and Trevor of Fossil, Ore.; daughter Malia (Kyle) McClure and granddaughter Hailee of Lovell; parents Don and Ruth Goller of Powell; and sisters Donna Goller and Linda (Mark) Lynn of Powell. He is also beloved by many aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Paul and Marie Goller and James and Almira Ferrell.
Services were under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home.
