(Jan. 3, 1922 - Dec. 1, 2010)

Edith Snyder Holm, a loving daughter, devoted wife, awesome mother, wonderful grandmother, sister to some and loyal friend, peacefully passed away on Dec. 1, 2010 with her family at her side after a battle with cancer.

Edith Marie Snyder was born Jan. 3, 1922 in Bangor, Maine, the only child of Glen D. and Kathryn Seymour Snyder. When she was 2 years old, her family moved back to Cody, where she was raised. She graduated from Cody High School in 1939. During her school years, she worked at the Sunlight Dude Ranch, Cody Drug, Western Drug and Blair Drug, as well as the Golden Rule Store and Western Union.

Edith married Owen Robert (Bob) Holm on March 30, 1940 in Billings, and they had 70 wonderful years together. They had two sons, Glen and Roy. After her sons married, she told friends that she did not have two daughters-in-law, she had two daughters.

Edith was a world class homemaker. Her family meant everything to her.

Bob and Edith were in the motel business in Cody for many years. Edith became active in the family businesses after Bob was no longer able to do it himself.

Edith enjoyed her 48 years of membership in P.E.O. She held all of the offices twice. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church and was given an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women for the work she did for her church. She held a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying around the area during the 1960s. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, hiking in the hills, knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling, museums, community concerts and movies. One of her greatest pleasures was her weekly bridge clubs with her very best friends. No matter what was going on, being able to play bridge and visit with her friends seemed to rejuvenate her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her parents. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Glen and Nancy Holm and Roy and Mina Holm; grandchildren Sydney Holm and Jessi Morris, Nathan Holm, Kyli (Trey) Griffin, Aryn (Russell) Rossett and Quincy (Ole) Sondeno; great-grandchildren Mariana Jochim, Molly, Cleve and Sam Griffin and Claire Rossett; sister-in-law Gloria Holm Peterson and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday, Dec. 6, at the Presbyterian Church in Cody.Donations can be made to Powell Valley Home Care and Hospice in Powell or Spirit Mountain Hospice in Cody.
