(Sept. 24, 1940 – Nov. 12, 2010)Alberta Jeanne Storeim, 70, of Greybull died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home between Basin and Greybull.

Alberta was born on Sept. 24, 1940, in Powell to Harry Leon Wilson and Jeannette Baxter Wilson. Alberta was raised in Powell and received her elementary and high school education in Powell. She then went on to college at Northwest Community College in Powell.

On April 14, 1961, Alberta married Jerry Storeim in Billings.

Alberta worked at Pamida in Powell in the early 1970s and as a waitress at Parker's Café and Bluejacket's Restaurant in Greybull. She drove buses for the Greybull Schools for 17 years. Alberta was instrumental in starting the Greybull Recreation District in the early 1980s. She would set up classes and sports activities on weekday afternoons at the Greybull City Park for the area children. She served on the Recreation District Board for several years thereafter. She and her husband, Jerry, also planted the poplar trees on the west side of the Greybull Football Field in order to provide shade for future football players and their fans.

Alberta was an accomplished knitter and for many years supplied her family and friends with beautiful sweaters and afghan quilts for Christmas and birthday presents. She also hosted ladies tea parties for the neighborhood children for several years.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents. Her husband, Jerry, died on Oct. 26, 2010.

Alberta is survived by her sons, Marty Storeim of Worland, Steven (Bridget) Storeim of Casper, and Aaron Storeim, currently serving in the United States Army in Afghanistan; daughters, Cari (Doyal) Waterworth of Worland and Nicolle (Shawn) Trotter of Cody; sister, Georganna (Jim) Takacs of Powell; and grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Waterworth, Jacob Storeim, Madison, Mayson, and Millie Storeim, and Emily, Drew and Aaron Trotter.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull with Pastor Tim Trippel officiating. Immediately following the services, a reception for family and friends will be held at Lisa's Restaurant, 200 Greybull Avenue, Greybull.

A memorial fund has been established in Alberta's name at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, WY 82426. Proceeds will go toward the Greybull Arts Council.
