Shawn L. Younglove

Shawn L. Younglove, 49, died early in the morning of May 18, 2015, at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He spent the previous day surrounded by many of his family members and friends. He appreciated all those who came and the thoughts, well wishes and prayers from those that were not able to.

Raised in the Cody/Powell area, Shawn graduated from the Powell High School and was an active member in 4-H and FFA.

He proudly served in the Army 4/27th FA Battalion in Germany. After the Army, he went into the auto parts business in Riverton. He later moved to Colorado and in the several years he spent there he met his wife, Andrea, and they were married on May 16, 1998.

Shawn enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his horses. He was an avid fan of the Raiders Football team and John Wayne. He also adored his granddaughters Cassidy, 7, and Elizabeth, 2.

He leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Andrea; three step-sons Jeremiah, Carlie (Teresa) and Andrew Stringer. He also is survived by his mother Carolyn Person of Burns; three sisters Georgia Younglove, Dawn Sanchez and Jessica James; several nieces and nephews; grandmother Helen Harke; and aunts and uncles.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father Billy O. Younglove; grandfather Lucky Harke and grandparents Younglove.

Shawn always had a smile, friendly handshake or joke for those that he knew. He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, son, brother, nephew and friend. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13 at 3 p.m. at the Boot and Bottle Club in Cody.
