Thomas M. Henderson died Monday, July 8, 2013, at his home in Powell after a year-and-a-half courageous battle with cancer. He was 70.

Thomas was born on Nov. 2, 1942, in Fort Bragg, Calif., to Lucy Lawrence and Edmund L. Henderson.

He graduated from high school and then attended some college.

Thomas married Jean “Jeanie” Yates on April 10, 1966, at March Air Force Base in California.

The couple made their home in California and Wyoming.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army from 1961-67, serving in Germany, Fort Lewis, Wash., Fort Irwin, Calif., and Fort Ord, Calif.

He worked as a scanning supervisor for CTB/McGraw Hill. He retired after 38 years with the company.

Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandkids in all their activities. He was a big fan of Pioneers Legion baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Lawrence and Edmund Henderson.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanie Henderson of Powell; son Scott (Staci) Henderson of Powell; daughter Kimberley (Rob) Riedinger of Powell; brother Louis (Barbara) Henderson of Lancaster, Calif., Larry (Brenda) Costa of Fort Bragg, Calif.; brothers-in-law Richard Yates of Vista, Calif., and Steve (Cheryl) Yates of Monroe, Wash.; and seven grandchildren: Gage Henderson, Brittney Henderson, Zane Henderson, Madyson Riedinger, Scotty Riedinger, Brenna Henderson and McKinzee Riedinger.

A private family memorial service will be held at home.
