Harold L. Olson

Harold L. Olson died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at age 93 in Newberg, Ore.

Harold was born in Westby, Wis., to Clarence and Alice Olson. After high school, Harold proudly served in the U.S.

Army Air Corps, in Texas, from 1940-45 where he taught pilots instrument flying. He was discharged in 1945 with the rank of master sergeant.

In 1943 Harold married Elsie Stylen. They had one son, Johnny. In 1955 Harold moved his family to Powell, where he was employed for many years as a salesman for Broderick Chevrolet-Buick.

In 1969 he married Evelyn Ayres and they soon moved to Mesa, Ariz., where he continued working in the car business at Brown & Brown Chevrolet. Harold and Evelyn retired in 1981 and spent several years traveling around the country in their mobile home before settling in Tigard, Ore.

Harold is survived by his son, Johnny (Debbie) Olson of Billings; grandson, Jeff Olson of Rocklin, Calif.; and his Oregon family, Bill and Kathleen Ayres and their children, Mark, Bill and Kristin and Charlie Ayres.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Church for Harold (and for Evelyn who died on May 1, 2013) in Sherwood, Ore., at a later date.

Interment for Harold and Evelyn will be held at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
