In folkstyle, the Powell wrestlers found plenty of success, as winners included Adrian Flores in the 4U boys at 39 points; Kade Comer in the 6U boys at 70 pounds; Carter Gernhart in the 10U boys at 105 pounds; Jadyn Flores in the 10U boys at 120-plus pounds; Christopher LeBlanc Jr. in the 12U boys at 63-67 pounds; Case Davis in 12U boys at 86-92 pounds; Kye Carter in the 12U boys at 108 pounds; Nova Burbank in the 12U girls at 102 pounds; Bryian Davis in the 14U boys at 175 pounds; Harper Tatom in the 14U girls at 75 pounds; Avery LeBlanc in the 14U girls at 100-105 pounds; Rilee Rohrer in the 14U girls at 110-115 pounds; Tyler Wenzel in the junior boys at 144-150 pounds; Caydee Eden in the junior girls at 100-115 pounds and Nalani Jordan in the junior girls at 140 pounds.
In freestyle, Powell had victories from Ripken Hitz in the 4U boys at 36 pounds; Rhenn Goolsbey in the 6U boys at 43-45 pounds; Rhylee Goolsbey in the 10U boys at 56 pounds; Kye Stewart in the 10U boys at 93-96 pounds; Jadyn Flores in the 10U boys at 120-plus pounds; Christopher LeBlanc Jr. in the 12U boys at 63-67 pounds; Case Davis in the 12U boys at 86-92 pounds; Clayton Cox in the 12U boys at 160 pounds; Bryian Davis in the 14U boys at 175 pounds; Harper Tatom in the 14U girls at 75 pounds; Avery LeBlanc in the 14U girls at 100-105 pounds; Wenzel in the junior boys at 132-140 pounds and Jordan in the junior girls at 140 pounds.
In Greco-Roman, Powell had a smaller contingent but still walked away with plenty of victories, including Ace Phillips in the 10U boys at 63 pounds; Gernhart in the 10U boys at 93-95 pounds; Jadyn Flores in the 10U boys at 120-plus pounds; Christopher LeBlanc Jr. in the 12U boys at 63-67 pounds; Case Davis in the 12U boys at 86-92 pounds; Carter in the 12U boys at 108 pounds; Cox in the 12U boys at 160 pounds; Wade Gernhart in the 14U boys at 155 pounds; Wenzel in the junior boys at 140 pounds and Jordan in the junior girls at 140 pounds.
Powell finished with 2,250.5 points as a team, well ahead of second placed Greybull which had 1,388 points.
Wrestling camp
The Powell is set to host the Big Horn Basin Wrestling Camp next week, June 3-5 at Powell High School.
The camp will have three different sessions each day, with Pre-K-third grade participating in technique all three days from 12:30-2 p.m. before fourth-sixth grade sessions from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and concluding with the seventh-12th graders from 5-7 p.m.
On the third day, the camp will conclude with a dual setting during the 5-7 p.m. session, pitting wrestlers against each other dependent on weight and age.
Coaches helping at the camp will include Powell High School wrestling head coaches Nick Fulton and David Holland, assistant high school coaches Juston Carter and Cody Kalberer, Powell Middle School coach Nate Urbach, former Panther wrestler Emma Karhu-Douglass and University of Wyoming wrestler Sefton Douglass.
