Dear editor:
On May 4, 2025 (on NBC Meet the Press) President Donald Trump was asked, “Don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?” His response was “I don’t know." That is shocking, horrifying and scary! On Jan. 20, 2025, then President-elect Trump took the Presidential Oath of Office which includes “and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Does he not know what that means? Does he not know what an oath is? Is he not familiar with the Constitution? Yes, President Trump, and all presidents of the United States, need to uphold the Constitution. It is in the oath they take when they are inaugurated.
