It's been a stellar year so far for Powell High School — student athletes have won state titles in volleyball, cross country and now wrestling.Last weekend, the Powell Panther wrestling team captured its second straight 3A state championship. Back-to-back titles haven't belonged to the PHS team since 1974 and 1975. The wins, of course, demonstrate the extraordinary talent possessed by the young men on this squad. However, the state titles also are indicative of much more: Dedication, perseverance, sacrifice and buckets of sweat. This group of athletes committed itself to doing whatever it took to be the best. Most importantly, these grapplers had solid coaching from Nate Urbach. Coach Urbach demanded a lot from his team, and the results speak for themselves.Powell High School's combination of talented and dedicated athletes and good, tough coaching is hard to beat. The rest of the wrestling teams in Wyoming's 3A division know this only too well. Urbach and his wrestlers have represented themselves, their school and their town in championship fashion, and they deserve our hearty congratulations.
