William “Bill” R. Kupfer, Sr., 97, died on Oct. 4, 2019, in Spring Valley, Illinois, after a brief illness, with his children at his side.
Bill married Rosemary Bessler of Powell on Oct. 4, 1947. They lived in the Powell area for a short while, where two of their four children were born, before they relocated to Illinois. Rosemary was called to heaven in January 1999.
Bill was a survivor of World War II and was a resident of the VA Home in LaSalle, Illinois, at the time of his death. After retiring from his 30 years of service as a firefighter, Bill loved to spend his time “pickin’ and grinnin’” with friends. We will all miss the music.
Bill and Rosemary are survived by their four children: William Jr., Mary (Francisco Cisneros), Charles (Linda), and Richard (Jeanne); along with nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be graveside on Monday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., in Seneca, Illinois.
