Two Powell locations will host "Keys to Embracing Aging," a wellness education series designed to help older adults enhance their quality of life through healthy habits and practical lifestyle changes. The 10-week program, offered by University of Wyoming Extension Educator Melissa Cook, is free to attend.
The Powell Senior Citizens Center will offer the program during Friday lunch, while Heartland Assisted Living will host classes at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays. The series runs from June 13 through Aug. 22.
Keys to Embracing Aging is based on research from Kansas State University and highlights topics that support long-term well-being, including sleep quality, safety, a positive outlook, and intellectual wellness. Each session provides actionable takeaways that are both accessible and effective for people of all ages, especially those navigating the challenges and opportunities of later life.
