The Powell Tribune takes special sections pretty darn seriously.
They’re a chance to highlight what makes our community so great, whether it’s businesses, organizations, farmers or just people with a passion.
Now, to ensure the supplements to our twice weekly paper are getting all the attention they deserve, we’ve switched some things up and brought in two highly qualified writers to handle most of our special section coverage.
Wendy Corr and Amber Steinmetz may both be Cody residents, but don’t hold that against them.
Wendy began her career in journalism working a summer job at the Buffalo Bulletin right out of high school, but didn’t return to the industry until taking a job as the news director for the Bighorn Radio Network in 2006. Since then, Wendy has won numerous awards for broadcasting, most recently for her work as an interviewer for Cowboy State Daily. Wendy has lived in Park County since 1998, where she raised two children and became immersed in the communities of Powell and Cody. Wendy is also a musician, singing and playing bass guitar with the Dan Miller Cowboy Music Revue for nearly 20 years. Additionally, she teaches classes for Northwest College Center for Training and Development, and is the worship and music director for the First Presbyterian Church in Cody.
Amber Steinmetz has been a journalist and photographer for more than 20 years, writing and taking photos for a number of publications including the Cody Enterprise where she finished as the editor. She was raised in Wyoming and moved to Cody in 2015. When she's not busy working she enjoys spending time with her husband and young son.
Both are now using their decades of experience to be valuable contributors to our special sections, as we continue our work to highlight various aspects of our community.
We’re excited for Wendy and Amber to join our Powell Tribune newsroom as supplement contributors. Please help us in welcoming them.
