Wayne K. Anderson, 79, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on April 3, 2021. Wayne was born June 30, 1941, in Byron, Wyoming, to Alden and Evadean Anderson. Wayne was the oldest son of 12 siblings. Wayne had so many reasons to be proud including his military honors and his family.

Wayne joined the Marine Corp in 1959 and served until 1963, which included combat in Vietnam. In 1964, he married his soul mate, Gayle Langolf. From that union, they had John, Tonya and Rodney. Wayne was a supportive and loving father, giving his children the encouragement to follow their dreams and Gayle his unconditional love.

Following the military, the oil profession took him and his family to Tripoli, Libya, where he helped produce oil in the Sahara Desert. Wayne weathered the storms of life, mastering several careers to provide for the family. Wayne officially retired in 2016 and has been actively volunteering with the Marine Corp League ever since. Growing up on a farm, Wayne was a master gardener. Their yards are the envy of every neighbor.

Wayne is known for being the family historian due to his amazing memory. Wayne had an infinite number of stories that we cherish. His deep laugh and resonating voice always brought brightness and joy to everyone. Wayne kept the family’s bond strong with the endless hours he spent talking on the phone which was loved by all.

Wayne was the fabric of the family that kept everyone connected. The hardest part of losing Wayne isn’t having to say goodbye but rather learning to live without him. He has touched so many people’s lives with his kindness and sweet smile. He will be missed dearly.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Gayle; his children John Anderson, Tonya (Tim) Wallace and Rodney (Melissa) Anderson; grandchildren: Aiden, Mikelyn, Ashley, Cody, Brittany, Gavin, Cailin; and great-grandchildren: Tyson, Hunter, Charolette, Evangeline, Sayler, Micah, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Penrose Cemetery, in Byron, Wyoming, on June 5, 2021, at noon. Celebration of life party following.
