After a five-day wait, the Mountain West Tournament Champion Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team learned its opponent for the NCAA Tournament.
The Cowgirls received the No. 14 seed in the Hemisfair Region and will take on the No. 3 seed, UCLA, at 8 p.m. Monday in Austin, Texas.
UCLA enters with a 16-5 mark on the season after receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins, who came up short to Stanford in the Pac-12 championship game, are set to make their 17th appearance in the national tournament and are looking to make it to the Sweet 16 for the fifth straight year.
The Cowgirls, meanwhile, earned their second-ever NCAA Tournament bid after winning the Mountain West Tournament Championship. The UW women, now 14-9 on the year, defeated Fresno State to make the “Big Dance.”
Monday’s contest can be watched live on ESPN and will be played at the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas.
