Trump favoring Russia over Ukraine

Posted

Dear editor:

Some reflections on the bootlicking betrayal, and extortion, of Ukraine:

1) Neville Chamberlain, Norway’s Quisling, William “Boss” Tweed, Al Capone, Kim Jong Un, Benedict Arnold, Vladimir Putin, P.T. Barnum, Donald Trump, and apparently Cynthia Lummis, John Barrasso, Harriet Hageman, etc. Evidently, Ukrainians do not deserve the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but the invading Russians do.

2) I know of a man born in Poland who came to America after fighting in World War I. He became a prominent teacher and writer, but unable to return to his homeland because of WWII and the Russian occupation. He died in 1950 while Poland was under a communist regime, firmly controlled by the Soviet Union with ongoing political repression. He would be stunned knowing that 75 years later Poland is free while America submits to Russian policy, rewards its criminal actions and shares in its spoils of war.

3) As I was finishing this letter, Trump stopped providing crucial battleground information to the Ukrainians, probably leading to extra deaths. Russian hackers stopping that same flow of information would be called good soldiers. Trump has functionally joined Russia in attacking Ukraine. Does he want a Trump Tower in Moscow that badly?

4) MAGA Republicans seem totally on board, at times referring to America First. It’s more like America Alone and contrary to the “Equal Station” among nations called for in the Declaration of Independence. MAGA allies firmly control our government while they lay waste to it, repressing opposition with harsh retribution and unjust punishment. MAGA must stand for “Make America Go Away.”
