It was a slug fest of metal with Terry Vaughn of Cody wrecking his way to victory in the final bout at the Park County Fair Demolition Derby Saturday night.
As usual, it was sold out as the crowd screamed for their favorite drivers.
Reeling around the field like a crumpled can with wheels, Terry Vaughn, in No. 39, won the contest of endurance and daring.
In the first four qualifying heats, death was quick for the crushed cars, many of which looked as though they had been through the meat grinder before entering the raucous field of battle.
In the final fight, Terry Vaughn, Eric Parham, Gary Brewer and Scott Vaughn squared-off. By then, their cars were crumpled hulks of steel, tailing steam, exhaust and twisted fenders.
In just a few minutes, Terry Vaughn was the last car running.
