The University of Wyoming is hosting a junior tennis camp in Powell. Players between 12 and 18 years of age are invited to attend the three-day camp on May 29 to 31. The fee is $100.The camp is intended to develop and improve players’ skills, with emphasis on technique, strategy, motivation and fun.
The camp instruction will include on-court coaching during match play to better understand how to construct points and play each one with purpose.
On the final day, campers will play in a singles and doubles tourney to crown a champion.
Dean Clower, the head coach of the Unversity of Wyoming’s women’s tennis team, will lead the camp. Under Clower, the Cowgirls placed in a tie for second in the Mountain West Conference this past year — the highest finish ever for a Wyoming team. During his collegiate playing career, Clower cracked the top-50 doubles rankings. He’ll bring some current UW players to help at the camp.
