Tamie Lou Close died Jan. 29, 2012. She was 50.

Tamie was born July 21, 1961, in Cody, the daughter and seventh child of Georgia and Harold Close. Tamie lived her entire life on the banks of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River with her mother and caregiver for 50 years.

Tamie was preceded in death by her father Harold, mother Georgia, brothers Charles (Chuck) Close and Jerald (Jerry) Close.

She is survived by sister-in-laws Virginia (Chuck’s wife), of Fresno, Calif., Bonnie (Jerry’s wife) of Walla Walla, Wash., brothers, Glen (Dana) of Eatonville, Wash., Bart of Frenchtown, Mont., Roy (Ronda) of Billings, Tom (Norma) of Powell, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her loved ones are thankful for Tamie. Throughout her life she inspired them and provided many lessons of compassion and encouragement to be her voice for those who are confined by their disabilities but not by grace.

A funeral service for Tamie will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 111 West Third St. in Powell. There will be a time to share with family and friends following the service. There will be a family memorial graveside service at a later date for the interment of Tamie’s ashes.

Memorial donations can be made to the Bennett Creek Baptist Church or Heart Mountain Health Care.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
