The Clarks Fork, Greybull and Wapiti Ranger districts of the Shoshone National Forest will hold a community meeting at the Meeteetse Fire Hall today (Tuesday) from 5-6:30 p.m.
The focus of this meeting will be to inform the Meeteetse community about the prescribed fire project west of town. Staff from the Shoshone will give a short presentation describing the project areas and its benefits — including those for rangeland and wildlife. Representatives from Bureau of Land Management and Wyoming State Forestry will also be on hand to discuss ongoing projects in the area.
“We want to take the opportunity to meet with Meeteetse community members and anyone else interested in prescribed fire in the area to go over our plans and provide a forum to ask questions,” said North Zone District Ranger Casey McQuiston.
Due to limited space and a desire to maintain social distancing, Shoshone officials ask that only those impacted by this prescribed fire project attend the meeting in person. It will also be streamed live on the Shoshone National Forest Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ShoshoneNF.
