Dear editor:

The Shoshone Irrigation District (SID) budget approval date by Park County District Court has been set for June 26 at 10 a.m. You may attend via conference call by calling (307) 316-5574 and entering the access code 582444370. I am trying to locate a copy of the proposed budget for the next year so that we can determine the rate structure proposed by SID. As soon as a copy of the proposed budget is located, I will write again to share the details of what SID has submitted for approval.

In the meantime, I strongly urge everyone who has concerns about the current rate structure to mark the date and plan on attending the court teleconference approval hearing. Everyone must be willing to testify and present their feelings about the current rates and, if necessary, the proposed rate structure for next year. This will be the only chance we have to inform the court of our feelings and to hopefully influence the rate structure for next year. If we, the small farmers and landowners, hope to have any input and to present our concerns and feelings, this is a critical court hearing.
