A 43-year-old man from Shell died Saturday night after crashing north of Riverton. The Wyoming Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Tyler D. Spencer.
The patrol said Spencer had been traveling north on Wyo. Highway 789 when his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the side of the road and overturned. Spencer, who was wearing a seat belt, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash, the patrol said.
Troopers were notified of the one-vehicle rollover around 8:46 p.m. They said speed is being investigated as a possible cause in the fatal crash.
It was the 25th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021, compared to 19 at the same point in 2020 and 39 in 2019.
