Sheila D. Shire, 64, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana.
Born in Oroville, California, to Ginger and Albert Lesher, Sheila earned her nursing assistant certification in Oregon, where she dedicated many years to the compassionate care of her patients.
Known affectionately by her family as “Rutt,” “Chida,” “Honey,” and “Ol’ Girl,” Sheila had a deep love for the outdoors and the arts. She was happiest when fishing, four-wheeling in the mountains, traveling or creating art. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Harold Shire; her daughters, Heather and Rachel; and her beloved grandchildren, Domi, Lily and Lena. She is also survived by her brothers, Roy (Karen) Lesher and Stacey (Kim) Lesher, and her sister, Roseanne Lesher. She now joins her parents, Ginger and Albert Lesher, who preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held later this year.
