In celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday next week, local children can win books to read in a house, with a mouse, in a box or with a fox — books they can read here, there or anywhere.
The annual Bingo for Books takes place Monday night at the Powell High School Commons, beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing until 7 p.m.
The Powell Education Association hosts the annual event, which coincides with Read Across America Day on Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The children’s author — whose real name was Theodor Seuss “Ted” Geisel — was born on March 2, 1904.
Families are invited to enjoy a night of bingo and grow their personal libraries. Kids are welcome to come in their pajamas. As always, the event is free for children of all ages.
Cody also will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a fun family celebration Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Park County Library, complete with a visit from The Cat in the Hat.
