The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has selected Joshua B. Schmidt of Powell to become a member of the organization.
In a news release, the NSHSS said it was recognizing Schmidt for “superior academic achievement.”
“On behalf of NSHSS and our co-founder Claes Nobel, a member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes, I am honored to recognize the hard work, passion and commitment that Joshua [Schmidt] has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence,” James W. Lewis, the society’s president and co-founder, said in a statement. “Joshua is now a member of a unique community of scholars — a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”
The NSHSS says it assists high-achieving students through unique learning experiences, sholarships, internships, international study and peer networks.
It currently claims more than 1.7 million lifetime members in more than 170 countries.
