Sandra Jean Franklin, 65, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at her farm home north of Alliance, Neb. She was born June 5, 1945 in Powell to Paul and Marjorie (Phillips) Decker.
On June 1, 1963, she was united in marriage to Richard J. Franklin in Powell.
From Powell they moved to Bowman, N.D. and Dillon, Mont., before moving to Alliance in 1980.
Sandy then began working at the Guardian State Bank and retired from Bank of the West as a trust officer after 30 years of service. She was also active in the operation of their family farm with her husband. Sandy was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed watching her grandkids in their activities as well as camping and rock hunting.
Her survivors include her husband, Richard; her daughters and grandchildren, Susan (Tracy) Elliott and their children, Lauren and Ross of Cheyenne, and Jane Elliott and her children, Carmen and Hunter of Worland. She is also survived by her parents, Paul and Marjorie Decker of Powell; her brothers and sister, Jim (Janet) Decker of Powell, Betty (Pete) Rauch of Monett, Mo. and David (Mary Jo) Decker of Powell and seven nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance with Pastor Jeri Soens officiating. She was buried at the Alliance Cemetery.
