Rose A. Wagner, most recently of Frannie, died at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012. She was 96.
She was born March 30, 1916 in Rowe, N.M., the only child of Demeatris and Florenda Gaveldone. As an infant, Rose and her parents moved to Rawlins, where she attended school and graduated from Rawlins High School. She married Frances McNulty in 1939 and remained in Rawlins until his death in 1965.
Rose married Darrel A. Wagner of Rock Springs on Nov. 12, 1968. Of this union she many times said, “I became a wife, mother and grandmother all in the same day!”
She was a member of the Catholic Church throughout her life. Rose was very active in community organizations and groups in Rock Springs, including Federated Women’s Club, where she served as president for two terms, Eagles, Elks and Red Hats.
Rose enjoyed all holidays and occasions with family and friends, crocheting, quilting and many other crafts.
She is survived by stepsons Rodger Wagner (Teresa) of Frannie, Richard Wagner of Sheridan, and John Wagner of Dana Point, Calif.; stepdaughter Marlene Cathro (Bob) of Canyon Lake, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Frances McNulty and Darrel Wagner, and one stepdaughter, Judy Brown.
Cremation has taken place and per Rose’s wishes there will be only a private family ceremony.
Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell was in charge of arrangements.
