(April 16, 1943 - Nov. 7, 2010)Robert J. Bass died on Nov. 7, 2010 at St. Vincent's Healthcare in Billings. He was 67.
He was born on April 6, 1943 to Marvelin and Nellie (Carter) Bass in Wilmington, N.C. After his high school graduation he went into the Navy, where he served with honor, attaining the rank of E-3. Upon his discharge in 1964, he continued on with the military with a stint in the Naval Reserve.
Robert was proud of his military service, and served as Commander of American Legion Post 84 in Belfry, Mont. from 2004-2008, and Vice-Commander from 2008-present.
Robert worked most of his civilian life as a carpenter in the construction industry. During the course of his career he lived in Columbia, South Carolina, Powell, Belfry, Mont., and finally in Clark. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
