Robert “Bob” Marion Webb, 81, passed away peacefully with his loving sister Barbara, niece Kelly and great niece Jessica by his side on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, in Powell, Wyoming at his residence in the Powell Valley Care Center.

Bob was born on April 22, 1942, to Elmer and Margaret (Brundridge) Webb in Portland, Oregon. After earning his Oregon diploma, he enlisted in the United States Army on Aug. 15, 1961 and served 21 valiant years.

Bob was a proud veteran and cherished his countless adventures during his years served. He had many commendations and medals that he would stoically tell you about when asked. His honors include a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (Unit), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon “2”, Army Service Ribbon and Army Commendation Medal. While on his first tour of duty in South Korea, Bob met and fell in love with a beautiful local woman named Kim. He would later marry Kim after re-enlisting to be sent back to her in South Korea.

Bob was honorably discharged, ranked as a Master Sergeant (Food Services Supervisor) from the Army on March 31, 1982, his assignment ending at Fort Riley. He and Kim remained in Kansas after his military retirement, where he took a job as an insurance salesman. Separating from Kim shortly after retirement, he decided to give up the insurance gig and move back home to Oregon to be close to family and friends. He would spend his next years living life to the fullest with his siblings and extended family, riding motorcycles, drag racing fast cars (1993 Northwest Division Street Drag Racing Champion), bowling, playing poker and in his later years, leisurely golfing.

In February of 2023, after taking a fall in his home in Oregon, he decided to move to his sister Barbara’s home in Wyoming. A few short months later he moved into The Heartland Assisted Living and then on to the Powell Valley Care Center. Bob quickly settled in to the care center and easily worked his way into the hearts of all the staff. He enjoyed keeping them on their toes and making sure they kept smiling throughout those long shifts. Bob sure liked to tell you how it was and never beat around the bush. He had the biggest helping heart and was proud to donate to many organizations over the years. Family meant everything to him and he always had a way with making you feel special and loved.

Bob is survived by his brother Clifford (Nancy) Webb, sisters Barbara Vanderkelen and Cheryl (John) Newman, sisters-in-law Jackie (Richard) Webb and Fran (Kerry) Webb, multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many friends and his brothers in arms.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Margaret Webb, brothers Russell Webb, Richard Webb and Kerry Webb, and sister-in-law Anita (Russell) Webb.

Bob took his final flight home to Portland on Nov. 27, 2023. A military graveside service will take place at the Willamette National Cemetery at 2 p.m. (PST) on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. There will be a link to view the services for those not able to attend. The family and close friends will be gathering after the services to share stories and celebrate the life Bob lived.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Bob and the Webb family.
