The East Yellowstone Chapter of Trout Unlimited and local raft companies are planning a cleanup of trash along the Shoshone River on Saturday, April 5.
Volunteers who are interested in lending a hand to keep our trails and rivers clean will meet at the Belfry Bridge access site at 8 a.m. Rafts and kayak crews will cover the river from Hayden Arch down to Willwood.
Other volunteers on foot will be assigned river trails or fishing access sites. Volunteers will be provided with collection bags to be returned to either the Belfry Bridge or Corbett Bridge access sites.
All ages are encouraged to help us either in a raft or by walking the trails and access points along the river. If planning to float in a raft or kayak, you must have waders or hip boots and life jackets (provided). Volunteers should bring gloves, adequate footwear, water, snacks, and be dressed for the weather that day.
The cleanup is expected to be done by noon or early afternoon. Youth groups are encouraged to participate.
