In the race for three seats on Park County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees, voters chose two incumbents and a newcomer with experience in the school district.
Tracy Morris, who has held an elected seat on the board since 2016, was the top vote earner, with 2,968, or 24.9% of the votes, returning her to that board. She had been appointed to fill an unexpired term prior to being elected to the seat.
Laura Riley, who was employed by the district for more than 16 years, came in with the second-largest number of votes, at 2,913, or 24.4% of the votes.
“I’m excited,” Riley said Wednesday. “I’m also very humbled by the community response. I’m looking forward to the next four years. I know I have a lot to learn, but I have time and it’s going to be a new experience,” she added. Riley said she had the utmost respect for the board members and had nothing against anyone when she ran for a seat.
Kim Dillivan, also an incumbent board member, came in third, with 2,571, or 21.5% of the vote, sending him back to the board in the remaining open seat.
That means Kimberly Condie, who has been on the board since 2016, has lost her seat, in spite of collecting 2,479 votes, or 20.8%.
Sharea Lindae Moan Renaud, a Willwood resident, garnered 919 votes, or 7.7%, and did not gain a seat.
Write-in votes, 86 of them, accounted for 0.7% of the votes.
