All graduating high school senior girls in Park County are invited to the 14th Annual Leadership Tea on April 19, set to run from 2-4 p.m. at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.
Hosted by Park County Republican Women, the non-partisan event honors young women who are graduating from high school. Each attendee receives a door prize and has a chance drawing for other gifts, including a pearl necklace/earrings, cash, and more.
Park County Republican Women (PCRW) also will provide three $1,000 scholarships — the Peg Shreve Memorial Scholarship, Peg Coe Memorial Scholarship and the PCRW Scholarship — to assist young women from Park County who will be attending college or a vocational school this fall. Of the scholarships’ namesakes, Peg Shreve was Park County’s first female lawmaker and a longtime teacher, serving in both roles for 20 years; meanwhile, Peg Coe helped lead the completion of what is now the Center of the West and aided many other local organizations, including the Coe Medical Foundation and Shoshone First National Bank.
Applications are available through the guidance offices in Powell, Cody and Meeteetse and are available to homeschooled girls as well.
