Powell tee’d off the Independence Day weekend with the annual Red, White & Blue golf tournament at the Powell Golf Club.
The two-day event ran Saturday and Sunday in three flights — Red, White and Blue — with two different flag prize contests each day.
Saturday’s “Closest to the Pin” contest was claimed by Skip Holmes on No. 4, Mike Bohlman on No. 8, West Hernandez on No. 15 and Shawn Warner on No. 17.
Sunday featured the “Longest Drive in Fairway” with Hernandez taking honors on No. 5, Brandi Holmes on No. 11 and Cameron Frates on No’s. 9 and 16.
The tournament play was net Stableford format, where players earn points, with the higher scores finishing highest in the final results.
A bogey or higher gets zero points, a par earns one point, a birdie three points and an eagle five points.
Hernandez came in with an 84 to win the Red Flight, with Mike Bohlman taking second with 78, Dick Fisher third with 74, Jerry Herweyer fourth at 73 and Brad Hammond fifth with an even 70.
In the White Flight, Marc Saylor also totaled an 84 to take the top spot, while Pat Day was five points back, at 79, for second.
Shawn Warner carded a 74 for third in the flight, Gary Ladd a 73 for fourth and Kevin Mitchell a 69 to place fifth.
Blue Flight saw a pair of 69s come in, and after a match of cards, Brandi Holmes was deemed the winner, with Jessi Herweyer settling for second.
Cameron Frates tallied a 65 for third.
