The Northwest Wyoming Board of Realtors (NWBOR) has named Ed Higbie as the Business Person of the Year and Scott Richard as the Realtor of the Year for 2019.
Higbie has been a member of the local realtor board since 1980, while Richard has been a member since 2014.
Higbie is best known as a developer, having spearheaded the creation of multiple subdivisions in Park County. He’s also a past president of the NWBOR, Cody Stampede Rodeo Board and Cody Country Chamber of Commerce.
In a statement, NWBOR leaders said home sales depend on someone having “the vision and the courage” to acquire large parcels of land and develop them into home sites.
“Ed [Higbie] has done just that for many years,” NWBOR leaders said. “He has provided the opportunity for realtors, surveyors, contractors of all kinds, and retailers of home furnishings — all the way down to grass seed — to sustain and grow their businesses.”
As for Richard, who is the current president of the NWBOR, board leaders called him “a wonderful ambassador for the real estate profession.”
“He has raised the bar in the public’s view by putting others first and treating them in a respectful, professional manner. He goes above and beyond and always has a very positive attitude,” the NWBOR said, adding, “Scott [Richard] is a leader, motivator, mentor, and educator with an insatiable desire to learn and grow.”
Beyond various roles with the local board, Richard will also serve as the Northwest Wyoming District vice-president with the Wyoming Realtors State Association starting in 2020.
The Northwest Board of Realtors is made up of realtors from across Park County, along with appraisers and various affiliate members.
