Ray Karst Jr., 50, passed away peacefully at Arrowhead Regional Hospital in Coltan, Calif., on Sept. 7.
He was born June 21, 1956 in Powell, the son of Raymond and Patricia Karst.
He was raised in Powell and graduated from Powell High School in 1975. He was a farmer in the Heart Mountain area for 25 years. In 2001, he moved to Lone Pine, Calif., where he started and operated Karst Trucking.
Ray enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a supporter of 4-H and FFA. He also sponsored a softball team known as the Headhunters. He was a true friend and would help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his father, Ray Karst; two sons, Rusty (Emily) Karst and Cody Karst; two daughters, Heidi (Cody) Toyne and Pepper (Ringo) Gonzales; two sisters, Wanita Bradish and Ruth (Jerry) Thompson; grandchildren Blake, Bailee and Beau Toyne; Chance, Reese and Sidney Karst; and Chase and Asher Gonzales; a friend, Donna Bonnefin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Karst; and grandparents, Ray and Lucile Karst and Herbert and Ruth Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Union Presbyterian Church in Powell.
