Randy Lee Preston, former Powell resident, died Sept. 3 in Manassas, Virginia, where he had been living since August 2016.  He was 65.

Randy and his wife Becky moved to Virginia to be near her parents, but he always considered Wyoming home.

Born in Torrington July 6, 1954, he graduated from Greybull High School in 1972. He was a brand inspector for several years before going to work in the oil fields.  In later years, he worked at Walmart in Cody and Coulter Car Care in Powell.

Randy was the best guy you could ever know. He was a quick wit, and it was hard to get one up on him. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa anyone could ever want.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Becky Preston; brother Clint Preston and sister Dolores Daul, both of Wyoming; son Jason Preston of South Carolina; daughter Leanna (David) Griffin of Missouri; stepchildren, Robert (Angie) DeWolf in Arizona and Cliff (Sandrine) DeWolf in Virginia; and grandchildren Justice Preston, Tieryn Preston, Henry Griffin, Tyler DeWolf and Alyssa DeWolf; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Nancy Preston and brother Doug.

Words can’t express how much he will be missed. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2020 when he will be brought home to Wyoming, the place he loved.

Condolences can be made at the Bakerpostfh.com in Virginia.
