Dear editor:
Thousands of local homeowners will pay more in property taxes than they should next year — simply because they haven’t signed up for their 2026 property tax exemption.
If you own your home and live in it, you may qualify for an exemption that could save you hundreds of dollars. But here’s the catch: you must apply before the deadline, or you’ll miss out.
This isn’t a drill.
Time is running out. If you don’t act, your next tax bill could be a nasty surprise. If you live in your home at least eight months/year, you qualify for #1 or #2:
1. Over 65 and paid WY property tax for 25+ years? Stop by or call assessor’s office at 307-527-8650.
2. Everyone else: visit ptd.wyo.gov/OWNEROCC/pages/home.
Don’t leave money on the table. Don’t pay more than your fair share. Sign up now and spread the word.
Sincerely,
Terry Call
Park County Assessor
