Track teams roll to victory at Cody The Powell Middle School boys track teams advanced to the head of the class among the seven-team fields at the Cody Middle School track invitational last weekend. The Panther seventh graders nearly doubled up the entire field in registering a 75-point victory over the host Broncs. Worland was the only other school to finish within 100 points of the Panthers. In the eighth grade competition, Powell finished 13 points clear of runner-up Lovell with a final tally of 144 points. Thermopolis was a distant third with 77 points. Seventh-grader Garrett Lynch was a triple winner at the meet. Lynch grabbed victories in both the shot put and discus. He also teamed up with Brendon Phister, Logan Harsh and Jakob Bowers to top the field in the boys' 4x400 relay. Phister added a victory in the pole vault competition. Harsh was victorious in the open 400. Among eighth-grade competitors, Tanner Bailey (800), Justin Lynn (75m hurdles) and Vince Sleep (discus) provided Powell's only event winners.
