Nine Powell High School athletes were recently commended for their “exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship.” The Wyoming High School Activities Association presented its Good Sportsmanship Awards to the following Powell basketball players for their conduct during these games:

  • Sidney O’Brien and Aidan Jacobsen for the Cody vs. Powell games on Jan. 10
  • Jaden Marchant for the Wind River vs. Powell game on Jan. 17
  • Jesse Brown for the Powell vs. Burlington game on Jan. 17
  • Landon Lengfelder for the Rocky Mountain vs. Powell game on Jan. 18
  • Kortny Feller and Trevor Groves for the Worland vs. Powell games on Jan. 24
  • Paije Johnson and Toran Graham for the Lander vs. Powell games on Jan. 25

Game officials recommend the players for the honor. In letters to PHS Principal Tim Wormald, WHSAA officials commended the student athletes for demonstrating respect, integrity, dedication and encouragement.

“Sportsmanship is a goal that all our coaches and athletes should have as they participate in activities,” wrote WHSAA Commissioner Ron Laird.

The Park County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees congratulated the students during its meeting Monday night.
