Powell City Councilman James Edgar Hillberry, 78, was severely injured in an ATV crash at 1180 Road 9 on Monday evening.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received the call at 5:28 p.m. and a sheriff’s deputy as well as Powell Fire Department and Powell Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation revealed that Hillberry was apparently attempting to load a 1989 Yamaha ATV four-wheeler onto his 1995 Ford pickup when the ramp failed, causing the ATV to flip over to the rear, landing on Hillberry’s head and neck area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Hillberry was transported to the Powell Valley Healthcare Emergency Room and then flown to Billings for further medical treatment where his condition is unknown at this time
