BILLINGS (AP) — Carbon County Montana authorities say they are investigating the discovery of three bodies in a Belfry home as a homicide.
Carbon County Sheriff Josh McQuillan says he and two deputies found the three dead adults this morning (Thursday) after a neighbor requested a welfare check of the home.
Authorities say the neighbor had not heard from the people in the home since Tuesday.
McQuillan declined to identify them or their relationship to each other pending family notification. He also declined to release the address of the home.
McQuillan says a person of interest has been identified. Montana Department of Justice spokesman John Barns says that person was not in custody early Thursday afternoon.
Barnes says law enforcement does not believe there is any danger to the community of a little more than 200 people.
The sheriff's office and the Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the deaths.
Belfry is located about 11 miles from the Wyoming/Montana border, north of Clark.
