Phyllis Smith, 92, was born in Powell, on May 22, 1929. She passed away at Expressions Memory Care in Carson City, Nevada, on Oct. 23, 2021.
Phyllis married Wayne Koch and had two sons in Billings, Montana, Steve Koch (Wendy) and Mark Koch. The family moved to Carson City in 1960.
Wayne passed away in 1974 and Phyllis went to work for the Carson City School District as a librarian in the middle school. Later Phyllis went to work for the State of Nevada Education Department.
She married Vaughn Smith, and he passed away in 2014, after 34 years of marriage.
Phyllis was preceded in death by two husbands, a brother and four sisters. She has numerous nieces and nephews throughout Wyoming, Utah, California and Oregon, and several stepchildren in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Phyllis’s remains will be laid to rest at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
