What do you do to put a wrapper on the 110th Powell High School Alumni Association all-class reunion, recently concluded on June 27-28?
There is no slowing down. Without hesitation, you start planning for the 111th consecutive gathering.
Alumni board members will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at the home of Lynn Bennion to put things in place for 2026, including firming up the date.
“The weekend before the Fourth of July is still our chosen weekend,” said Gerry Wilkins of Billings, who heads up the alumni committee. “We will make that final decision at the meeting.”
“The 110th reunion was well attended with lots of input from all the attending classes and alumni. We changed a few things and are happy with the outcome. Terry Lane and I attended the individual class events on Friday, and each class had great turnouts and activities. We were a little disappointed that the more recent classes didn’t meet,” he said.
Wilkins said the Saturday, June 28 evening event at the fairgrounds had a higher attendance than in the past with between 200 and 225 alums. Live music returned to the event courtesy of Bridge Wood Road, a group of PHS alumni “which added a nice touch to the evening, with people dancing and singing along.”
“Talking with all the vendors and presenters, everyone was excited with the weekend and talked about returning for the 111th,” Wilkins added. “Saturday night in our view was a success, and we see the need for live music. We’ve had suggestions and thoughts which we will go over at our meeting.”
